Cat Care Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 22, 2026
App: Cat Care (com.carecompanion.catcare) for Android and iOS
Developer: Care Companion
Privacy contact: privacy@mkit.ai
Summary
Cat Care is a private, on-device companion for cat profiles, routine care records, health-check timelines, reminders, and clinic-ready exports.
The developer does not collect or receive the information you enter into Cat Care. The app has no account system, developer-operated server, cloud sync, advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote crash-reporting service. Cat Care does not sell personal information.
Your working data remains in the app's private storage on your device unless you deliberately copy, export, or share something through a system feature or another app.
Information Cat Care accesses and stores on your device
Cat Care may handle the following information when you choose to enter or attach it:
- Cat profile and identification: name, profile photo, date of birth, sex, breed, coat or markings, weight, microchip number, neuter status, and feline blood type.
- Pet health and care information: allergies, conditions, symptoms, temperature, medications and directions, vaccination information, food, water, litter activity, notes, care tasks, due dates, and health-check history.
- Clinic and coverage information: veterinarian and emergency-clinic names, phone numbers and addresses, insurance provider, policy number, and insurer phone number.
- Caregiver information: names and phone numbers that you choose to enter. Only add another person's information if you have permission to store and share it.
- Photos: images you choose through the system photo picker or, where available, capture through a camera app. Cat Care stores an app-private copy for the feature you selected.
- Reminders and app settings: owner-created reminder labels and timing, scheduling identifiers, and limited local preferences such as the selected cat where the platform saves it.
- Generated content: emergency vet cards, reports, images, and plain-text summaries created from the information above.
This information is used only to provide the app features you request. Cat Care does not use it for advertising, profiling, automated diagnosis, or sale.
Where information is stored
Cat Care stores its working data in the app's private sandbox on your device.
- Android: records are stored in a private Room database; selected photos are stored in private app files; generated reports are stored in private cache. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for Cat Care app data.
- iOS: records are stored with SwiftData in private app storage. Cat Care disables CloudKit and asks iOS to exclude its working-data folder from device backups.
Cat Care does not provide cloud recovery or cross-device sync. If the app, its data, or a profile is deleted, the only in-app copy may be lost.
Collection and automatic sharing
The developer does not collect Cat Care working data because the app does not transmit that data to the developer or to a developer-operated service.
The current app does not include:
- An app account or login.
- A backend, cloud database, or cloud-storage service.
- Analytics, advertising, attribution, tracking, or remote-configuration SDKs.
- Developer-operated crash or diagnostic uploads.
The Android app does not request Internet permission. The iOS app does not contain an app-owned network or CloudKit data path.
Actions that can send information outside Cat Care
Information leaves Cat Care only when you take a clear action involving a system service or another app.
Photo picker and camera app
The system photo picker gives Cat Care access only to the image you select. The picker may show photos from a cloud photo provider that you configured, such as iCloud Photos or an Android cloud-media provider; that provider applies its own privacy practices.
On Android, Take photo opens a compatible camera app and gives it a private location for the resulting image. Cat Care does not request direct camera permission. The selected or captured image is processed locally and copied into app-private storage.
On iOS, choosing Take photo asks for camera permission and opens the system camera interface. Cat Care accesses the camera only after you choose that feature. The captured image is processed locally and stored in private app storage.
Notifications
If you create a health-check reminder and allow notifications, Cat Care schedules it on the device. A notification may display the reminder label and cat name, including on the lock screen depending on your operating-system settings. You can disable Cat Care notifications or hide lock-screen content in device settings.
Cat Care does not use remote push notifications and creates no remote notification token.
Clipboard and dialer
When you tap a Copy action, Cat Care places the selected emergency-card text or phone number on the system clipboard. The operating system and other apps may handle clipboard content according to their own rules, so clear sensitive clipboard content when it is no longer needed.
When you tap a phone action, Cat Care passes the selected number to the system dialer. Cat Care does not place the call automatically. Your phone service and dialer apply their own practices.
PDF, image, and text sharing
Cat Care creates reports and vet cards on your device. Nothing is sent when a file is generated or previewed.
When you tap Share or Export, the operating system shows available destinations. Only the destination you select receives the chosen item. On Android, the selected app receives temporary read access to the file. The developer does not receive the file or learn which destination you chose.
A receiving app, cloud service, email provider, messaging service, veterinarian, or other recipient may upload, retain, forward, or otherwise process its copy under its own privacy policy. Deleting information in Cat Care does not delete copies already saved or shared elsewhere.
App stores and operating systems
Google Play and Apple's App Store may independently process installation, update, security, or diagnostic information under their own terms. Cat Care does not automatically upload your cat profiles, care records, photos, notes, or generated vet cards to an app store. The operating system necessarily handles the selected information used for local notifications, the clipboard, the dialer, and the share sheet as described above.
Retention and deletion
Working data remains on your device until you delete an entry or profile, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
- Deleting a profile removes its related local records, reminders, and app-private photos.
- Clearing app storage or uninstalling Cat Care removes app-sandbox data according to the operating system's behavior.
- Generated share files are held in private temporary or cache storage and may remain until Cat Care or the operating system removes them, the cache is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
- A file or message already shared to another destination is controlled by that destination and is not removed when you delete the Cat Care copy.
Because the developer has no Cat Care account or server-side database, the developer cannot view, recover, export, or remotely delete your on-device records. You control those records through the app and device settings.
Security
Cat Care uses the application sandbox, private databases and files, and operating-system security controls. On Android, files are disclosed to a selected share destination through a temporary, read-only permission. Android backup and device transfer are disabled; iOS CloudKit is disabled and backup exclusion is requested.
Cat Care does not add separate app-level encryption to its local database or photo files. Protect your device with a passcode or biometric lock, keep its operating system current, review generated documents before sharing, and choose recipients carefully. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Cat Care is intended for cat owners and caregivers and is not directed to children. The app does not ask users to create an account or provide their age, and the developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app.
Pet health and veterinary disclaimer
Cat Care is a recordkeeping and communication tool. It is not a medical device, veterinary service, or emergency service, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment. Contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic directly when a cat may need urgent care.
